Sunday April the 22-th I participated in 'The day of the Youth Heroes' to promote the work of Enid Blyton. The day turned out to be organised well, but unfortunately it has been very silent. That was a pity, especially for the persons who had organised it. The weather was very nice that day, and that (combined with the location which was in the very east of Holland) resulted in a low number of visitors.
However, it has not been totally emtpy, and I have been able to talk to several people. In my stall I displayed several books to leaf through, and collections of prints with information. To take home I had made a list of all Dutch books which is very usefull for collecting; en of course there were Viv's flyers about wandering in Enid Blyton Country Dorset. And last but not least there were Noddy-cookies. But I am afraid that I didn't display them very well, because none has taken one. Amazing!
On the day there were many stalls were secondhand books were sold. Amongst those books were many Blyton's. I managed to find three books that I didn't had yet! Also books clubs presented themselves, and there were several clubs which are dealing with stuff and memories from the past. Amongst those my promotion of Enid's work fitted well. The day was very nice. It was just a pity that we had such a little number of visitors. We hope to improve this next year.
Below you will see my photo's. I had planned to make some photo's of visitors too. But because of their low number, this has not succeed. Therefore you will only find photo's of me and my stall.
The next day will be on April the 20-th 2008 (the date is not confirmed yet).
